More than 80% of people with Asperger's Syndrome are not engaged in meaningful employment. It is not always to their choosing that the numbers are so high. Often, adults with Asperger's Syndrome want to engage in substantial gainful activity as adults and be a contributing member in the workforce. Due to social impairments that present social gaps between them and their peers it is difficult. As an adult living with Asperger's Syndrome I will share some of my goals, hopes, and dreams for a career in this book. I will also share how the social impairments have presented challenges along the way to me being able to keep employment. Most gaps in my work history are due to social skills more so than they can be attributed to any other problem. This book will shed light on what it might be like to live with Asperger's Syndrome while trying to navigate the system of finding a job and keeping it. This book shines lot on the social challenges presented by Asperger's Syndrome on the job and gives tips on how to overcome those challenges or minimize them. Great reading for parents and educators.
